Shepherd ISD campuses and offices will be closed on Monday, February 19th, in observance of Presidents Day. We will resume our regular schedule on Tuesday, February 20th. We hope all of our Pirates have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
We want to bring your attention to an important update regarding the school calendar. Friday, March 8th, will be utilized as a bad weather make-up day for Shepherd ISD. On this day, classes will resume as usual, and the school district will operate on its normal schedule.
This decision is in response to the school closure that occurred on January 24th due to flooding and rising river levels in our community. Ensuring the safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority, and the closure was a mandated county measure to protect everyone during challenging weather conditions.
As we strive to maintain continuity in our academic calendar and provide our students with the necessary instructional days, March 8th has been designated as a make-up day. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but it's essential to make up for the lost instructional time to ensure our students' academic success.
